Lee Baumgarten of Charlotte, NC.    She is a board member of the Shelby Regional Arts Council and occasionally offers painting workshops at various locations in Shelbyville, Kentucky. "Ever since I could hold a crayon, I have made art in one form or another--from popsicle stick boxes to pencil and oil portraits of family, friends and pets, to photographs of faraway places or my own backyard. I love color and the feelings it evokes: happiness, sorrow, excitement, even indifference. I try to emphasize color in my artwork, using soft, subtle strokes, or large bold splashes, depending on the subject. I believe art, in whatever form, enriches our lives. I hope my art encourages people to stop for a moment and see, not so much what I see, but what speaks to them."

Featured Artist – Beverly Bruntz

About the Artist - Beverly Bruntz

After graduating with a Masters of Art from California State University, Fullerton, Beverly worked for several years in commercial art. Feeling the need to pick up the paint brush again, she began exploring the fine art scene in southern California. She started taking her paints outdoors and was hooked on painting directly from life.

She developed her painting skills while working a full time job in graphic design.  In 2009 Beverly relocated from Yorba Linda, CA to the bluegrass region in her home state of Kentucky and fell in love again with the beauty of the area.  Inspired by rural scenes and small town life, her impressionist paintings have a feeling of nostalgia.  Country road, woods, ponds, creeks, barn yards are among her favorite subjects to paint.

Beverly is a member of Shelby Regional Arts Council and has a Student Drawing Exhibit at the Dogwood Art Gallery & Gifts featuring drawings by her students.
